A word from
Rachael Clark

Coordinator of Home Education Queensland

I recently spent a few days with Kevan and Lynne from Kidspace in Caloundra and felt compelled to share my experience with the broader home education community. As Co-ordinator of HEQ Inc and an advocate for home educators, I’ve seen many programs—but nothing quite like this. Kidspace offers a nurturing, play-based learning environment led by passionate, qualified educators (including one who home educates herself). The care, respect, and genuine engagement I witnessed from the entire team was remarkable. Their vision to support home-educating families has led to something truly special.

After three years of persistent lobbying, Kevan and the team have secured government approval to run Australia’s first CCS-subsidised drop-off program for home-educated children under 13. It runs 9am–2pm, Monday to Friday (including school holidays), at $65 a day with meals included—and with CCS, it can be as low as $6.50 depending on your income. The program includes community adventures, workshops, and free play, and bookings are easily managed through their app. With an outstanding 1:10 educator-to-child ratio and incredible facilities, I wholeheartedly encourage families to explore what Kidspace has created—it's a game-changer for our community.

Above and beyond.... I'd highly recommend Kidspace
